Professional Development Day for PhD Students Supervisors

A workshop with Dana Driscoll, Director of the Jones White Writing Center at Indiana University of Pennsylvania

This workshop is designed for supervisors of Ph.D. students and other scholars/educators who are dedicated to supporting doctoral students and early-career researchers in their publication efforts. The program will include information on effective practices for supporting students in publishing, methods for providing feedback, as well as new technologies including ChatGPT.

Dana Lynn Driscoll teaches academic writing and provides extensive support to undergraduate and graduate students across disciplines at the IUP Writing Center. She has given many keynote lectures and workshops around the world and has published more than 35 articles on learning theory, writing instruction, writing development, writing centers, and more. She is also the co-editor of the open-source textbook Writing Spaces, and working at Purdue University, she also ran the world-renowned Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL), one of the largest and oldest academic writing websites.
