The 29th International Energy and Environment Conference (IEEC 2026) will take place from 7 to 9 September 2026. The conference will be held in the beautiful and inspiring surroundings of the Sepetná Resort in Ostravice, in the very heart of the Beskydy Mountains.
The event, organised by the Energy Research Centre CEET in collaboration with the Department of Power Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, VSB-TUO, will traditionally bring together researchers, academics, industry experts, and other professionals dedicated to energy, the environment, and the development of technologies for a sustainable future.
Current topics driving the energy sector
The conference programme will offer a wide spectrum of current topics, ranging from new energy technologies, alternative fuels, and hydrogen to environmental protection and the utilisation of artificial intelligence.
Particular attention will be paid to:
- hydrogen technologies and energy storage,
- renewable and alternative energy sources,
- biomass, biofuels, and biorefineries,
- waste-to-energy and thermochemical processes,
- carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS),

- the utilisation of artificial intelligence and machine learning in the energy sector,
- life cycle assessment (LCA) and environmental protection,

Internationally recognised experts
The programme will feature presentations by prominent experts in the field of energy and related technologies. Confirmed speakers include Prof. Katarzyna Chojnacka from the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Prof. Wei-Hsin Chen from National Cheng Kung University, and Prof. Adolfo Iulianelli from the National Research Council of Italy.
Their presentations will offer an up-to-date perspective on the development of the field and new research directions that could significantly influence the future of energy and environmental technologies.
