Summary
The attached project proposal is based on the design, development, testing and application of an innovative catalyst as an element for catalytic cleaning of flue gas from biomass combustion in stationary combustion sources up to 300 kW commonly used for household heating. The aim of the project is to develop a suitable catalyst for application as a retrofit measure for modern and older sources, regardless of design, heat output or type of burned biomass, with a very high potential to reduce the impact of these sources on local air quality with national and transnational overlap. The catalyst will be designed to reduce mass concentrations of CO, OGC (Organic Gaseous Compounds) and TSP (Total Suspended Particles), which also include PAHs (Poly-Aromatic Hydrocarbons).
