Summary

The project focuses on the energy use of solid alternative fuels, as one of the substitutes for fossil coal in the heat and electricity supply sector. The goal is to develop and experimentally verify in laboratory and industrial conditions a technology that will be able to ensure the reduction of the concentrations of heavy metals, semi-metals and acid gases to the level necessary for subsequent capture of CO2 by membrane separation. The aim of reducing the concentrations of these trace pollutants is to enable the integration of the CO2 separation system, which is extremely sensitive to flue gas purity, and at the same time ensure the fulfillment of future emission limits according to BAT 2028+. The developed unit will be technologically at the level of TRL5-6, with verification of results on full-scale industrial facilities.
