Summary
(Mobile) hydrogen storage is a key element for successfully connecting production and use
hydrogen. Hydrogen storage is therefore a link in the entire hydrogen value chain
economy and the basis for ensuring the flexibility of the energy system. By estimate
of "MARKETSANDMAR-KETS" [1] the value of the hydrogen storage market could
to reach approximately US$6.3 billion by 2030. The main goal of the "Core-
H2storage" is a cost- and resource-efficient storage of hydrogen for various applications.
The planned development of technology as a driver of sustainable H2 storage contributes significantly to
ensuring responsible use of renewable energy sources. Therefore, the main objective of this
of the H2 storage project at ambient temperature and pressure up to 3.5 MPa in scalable solutions. For
for this purpose, solid phase sorbents are made available, especially alloys with high entropy and Siaerogels,
as an alternative for storage at very high pressures or cryogenic temperatures.
The result is great energy savings and two different systems for flexible H2 storage.
