Objectives

The purpose of the project was to prepare an analysis of the actual state of waste management in the border region of Moravian-Silesian and Zilina regions. Optimization of waste management with the implementation of technologies for thermal waste disposal based on the processed analyzes was one of the specific objectives of the project.

Outputs

The main outputs of the project was to assess the current state of waste management in the Czech-Slovak border region. Energy Research Centre has prepared two studies dealing with the particular issue of waste management in the region. Data from two different statistical sources were analyzed in order to determine the amount of municipal waste generated in the region, to estimate future trends in production and quantify the various waste streams, depending on the method of disposal.
