A base of the second research stand is a fixed-bed allothermal generator with max. heat output of 100 kW. Pellets can be used as fuel. The gasification generator can be operated in the allothermal mode (water steam as a gasification medium) or the autothermal mode (air or an oxygen-steam mixture as a gasification medium). A catalytic dolomite reactor is used to remove undesirable tars; total suspended particles are removed in a high-temperature filter. Behind this a cooling section with water coolers is arranged.
The generated gas can be burnt in a combustion chamber, used as a fuel for a cogeneration unit with a piston motor or processed through the Fischer – Tropsch synthesis to liquid fuels.
