The laboratory unit is used to test the most important properties (activity, selectivity and stability) of heterogeneous solid catalysts fit for syngas conversion to alcohols (methanol and other) or other hydrocarbons. In addition to the reaction section (where the synthesis gas from pressure cylinders reacts with catalyst in a reactor), the laboratory equipment includes also a separation module where the synthesis products are separated. The reactor with 10 ml volume can work at gas pressure up to 100 bar. It can be heated to 450 °C. A system cooling the produced mixture, module separating the gaseous and liquid fractions and heated module separating the solid fractions (waxes) are located downstream the reactor.
