A base of this technology is a fixed-bed gasification generator with 100 kW heat output. The fuel in a form of wood chips or pellets is supplied from a fuel bin by two screw conveyors to the active zone of the generator. Energogas is generated above the grate in a fuel layer at temperatures of 800 – 1100°C. The generated gas is transported through a high-temperature separator of solid particles and a cooling section to an exhaust fan. Behind this a combustion chamber is arranged, in which the gas is combusted.

The base of presented biomass gasification technology is fixed bed autothermal reactor (fig.). This construction resulted in a stable work and ability controlling gasification process. Reactor is designed to operate at temperatures around 1200 °C with long-term operation, optimal temperatures are at range from 750 to 1100 °C. The entire reactor was insulated to keep the most amount of heat inside. Reactor surface temperature is lower than 60 °C, because there is ceramic lining with insulant Sibral.

The device operates in a vacuum produced by fan and in the future by the installed cogeneration unit. Gasification medium used at process is air, which is feeded by nozzles into bottom part of reactor.

Vertically supplied fuel is subjected to a drying process, during which evaporates moisture contained in it. The next stage of gasification is pyrolysis, in a reaction which produces flammable volatile products and coke. At oxidation stage are burning volatile pyrolysis products. Through this reaction generated heat flow to the other phases of the gasification. During the reduction carbon dioxide and water vapor react with coke, formed in pyrolysis. In this phase a crude gas originated. It is approximately for 1.5 seconds in the reactor. Crude gas is conducted from the top of the reactor into hot filter to remove dust. Gas is cooling in heat exchangers and through fan it is burning in combustion chamber. For removing tar from gas were tested various systems – dry process (dolomite reactor), wet process (wet purification).
