On 19-22 May 2025, CEET hosted a unique training course focused on electromobility and sustainable transport technologies, which we prepared for the Czech Peugeot dealership and its dealer network. The training was divided into four blocks, during which the participants were gradually introduced to the theoretical and practical aspects of modern mobility. The theoretical part included lectures focused on the global view of energy, charging of electric vehicles, photovoltaic systems or electricity storage.
The programme included an interactive demonstration of technologies for charging electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles. On our premises, partners could experience first-hand how the charging process of electric vehicles works and what benefits electric vehicles bring in the context of sustainable energy.
An interesting highlight of the day was the test drives, which included not only the Peugeot fleet but also vehicles from competing manufacturers. This gave participants the opportunity to compare the technical characteristics of different models and gain a more comprehensive overview of current developments in sustainable automotive technology.
"Our goal is to connect research and industry in the long term so that the energy transformation is faster, more efficient and brings concrete solutions into practice. Trainings like this show that electromobility and hydrogen are not just a vision of the future, but a reality of today," said Lukáš Prokop, Director of the ENET Centre.
With this training, CEET has reaffirmed its position as an important partner for knowledge transfer between academia, industry and the public. Whether it is electricity, hydrogen or other energy sources, our goal is to support the transition to a more sustainable and self-sufficient energy future.
Viktor Němec (responsible for training Peugeot employees): "Our electric vehicles are at a very high technical level - it would therefore be a pity if the knowledge and competence of our dealers did not reach this level. Electromobility is still perceived as a controversial topic and is often accompanied by a number of myths and misinformation. Our aim was therefore to provide dealers with a comprehensive overview of why EVs in particular and how they fit into the wider context of the energy transition. And that's straight from the most knowledgeable people.
That's why we took advantage of the training opportunities at the Centre for Energy and Environmental Technologies - Explorer (CEETe), where dealers could meet with scientists and experts. We wanted this information to come from experts who approach the topic independently, without any marketing filters. As a result, I believe our dealers will take away a deeper understanding and insight that will help them in their daily work."
Lukáš Prokop: The training takes place in the CEETe building, where it is possible to see unique technologies in practice with your own eyes. What is the added value of such an environment for you?
Viktor Němec: "Definitely in the opportunity to experience things first-hand. When you see the technology right in front of you, you can touch it (figuratively speaking), ask about the details, the overall experience is much stronger than if it were just a presentation of theoretical information from someone who has only learned it from a textbook. The immediacy and authenticity are irreplaceable. Thank you again for the opportunity to receive training directly from you."
