They familiarised themselves with the CEETe H2 research project and viewed the workplaces focused on thermochemical conversion and hydrogen technologies. The delegation, which included specialists from the Hydrogen Business Strategy Group and representatives of the Moravian-Silesian Hydrogen Cluster, was welcomed by the Director of CEET, Professor Stanislav Mišák.

The programme in the CEET building began with a presentation of the research centre itself and the innovative CEETe H2 project. This energy polygon connects a photovoltaic power plant with an output of 808 kWp with a battery system, a 360kW electrolyser, and its own hydrogen filling station.

The guests subsequently looked into the operation of the CEET laboratories. The excursion focused on the thermochemical conversion laboratory and the hydrogen technologies laboratory. For the Hyundai car manufacturer, which is globally developing its HTWO hydrogen platform and investing in hydrogen mobility and fuel cells, the connection with applied research in an academic setting is very valuable.

"Hydrogen technologies represent an important part of the solution for the decarbonisation of industry and transport, and at the same time, they create a natural bridge between centralised and decentralised energy. The fact that global technological leaders such as Hyundai are showing interest in the results of our research is a confirmation for us of the high professional level and the correctly set strategic direction of the CEET centre. Open cooperation, sharing of know-how, and the connection of research and industrial teams are key for us and enable a faster transfer of research results into industrial practice and their subsequent application in real applications. It is precisely such partnerships that significantly contribute to the development of innovations and the strengthening of the competitiveness of European industry," stated Stanislav Mišák, Director of CEET, regarding the visit.

The morning visit at the Ostrava university took place as the introductory part of a broader programme for the representatives of the car manufacturer in the Moravian-Silesian Region, which was coordinated by the Moravian-Silesian Hydrogen Cluster. The research activities of CEET in energy transformation and the circular economy are also carried out at the university under the banner of the strategic REFRESH project.
