The research team of bulk solids laboratory primarily deals with the metering of mechanical and physical properties of bulk solids as such properties represent important input parameters for FEM, DEM and/or CFD methods. The obtained values are further used to design transport and storage equipment. The main research objectives of the laboratory are to discern the basic principles and behaviour of bulk solids particles.
The research team investigates bulk solids dynamic flows along the transport routes and in the storage and/or processing facilities. The application of DEM in the design and optimization of equipment/facilities is conditioned by research of the particulate solids properties as they represent important input values to validate and calibrate the calculation method.
The team of bulk solids laboratory deals with conceptual design, diagnostics and optimization of transport, processing and storage equipment/ facilities supported by state-of-the-art methods.
