Intelligent diagnostic unit for Second-life EV batteries

Summary
The goal of the project plan is to develop a battery diagnostic unit, especially for BEVs, which can analyze data directly from BMS of various battery types and manufacturers, even those of unknown origin and operating history. Defective and damaged batteries will be captured through diagnostics and testing, and usable ones will be further sorted, for refurbishing, rebuilding or re-use in BEVs, for stationary storage or separation from the original BMS for building new battery systems. With this approach, it is possible to apply the principles of the circular economy to batteries from BEVs, the efficiency, lifetime and sustainability of electric vehicles increases, and at the same time it is about securing the necessary source of battery systems for greater integration of RES into the electricity system and the sustainable use of critical raw materials, especially rare earth metals.
