The Materials and Environmental Laboratory is focused on the development of new carbon-based materials and
metal compounds using surface chemistry and atomic engineering approaches. Advanced low
dimensional materials and single-atom systems are applied particularly in technologies
solar energy conversion, energy storage, heterogeneous catalysis, water purification and biomedicine.
