The Rector's Award for one-year doctoral grant projects was given to students of Nanotechnology.

Students of Nanotechnology were successful in the competition of one-year projects carried out within the Doctoral Grant Competition of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava.
The Rector's Award of VSB-TUO was given to Ing. Zuzana Vilamová and Ing. Sergei Kiselev for winning first place with their project titled "Organic and Inorganic Pathogenic Nanoparticles and the Formation of Appropriate Protective Barriers Based on Electroactive Nanomaterials."
The diploma, together with a small gift, was presented to them by the Director of the Centre for Nanotechnology, Prof. Ing. Daniela Plachá, Ph.D.
