Saeid Mehvari, a PhD student of Mechanical Engineering from Northumbria University at Newcastle, UK, department of Mechanical and Construction Engineering is performing part of his doctoral research at Nanotechnology Centre, CEET, VSB-TUO under the supervision of prof. Gražyna Simha Martynková and her team from Laboratory of technology and structure of nanomaterials. The growing demand of high-performance materials in this world encouraged this team to conduct a comprehensive experimental and simulation research on the electrically conductive flexible composites composed of copper and silver nanoobjects.
“I am doing my PhD`s journey under the supervision of Dr, Yolanda Sanchez Vicente, Prof. Khalid Lafdi and Dr. Sergio Gonzalez Sanchez at NU, UK on nanowires synthesis for sensors applications“ explains Saeid. “My supervisors decided to send me for a three-month internship to Nanotechnology Centre since the experts in the field of nano science and well-equipped center laboratories will help my research grow. Therefore, at CNT I am synthesizing applicable copper and silver nano wires as the filler of conductive flexible composites. These composites would work as basic materials of smart fabric in sensory applications.”
