Thanks to the MATUR project, in which CNT participates, scientist Lukáš Plesník from the Nanotechnology Centre at VŠB-TUO took part in a 30-day work placement at AGH University of Krakow in Poland.

Under the guidance of Prof. Urszula Stachewicz, an outstanding scientist and recipient of ERC grants in the field of nanotechnology and electrospinning, and her expert group for electrospun nanofiber materials (Electrospun Fibers Group), Lukáš Plesník focused on the preparation of nanofiber composite materials.

In collaboration with Dr. Piotr Szewczyk, samples based on research into polymer materials and CNT nanofillers were prepared using a spinning process at AGH. These composite materials should represent the next step in research into advanced and safe battery separators.

"It was a tremendous opportunity for me to see the top-notch work of a foreign team up close and at the same time try out methods that we don't normally use here. In addition, we have established a collaboration that has the potential to continue in other projects," says Lukáš Plesník.

Lukáš Plesník will continue his research internship at the Romanian Academy of Sciences under the supervision of Prof. Daniela Predoi, working on the structural and morphological properties of innovative composite separators, which are the subject of CNT within the REFRESH project.
