At the end of October, the Nanotechnology Centre left Building N, which will undergo an extensive renovation over the next two years aimed at modernizing the space and ensuring optimal conditions for future research.

On October 22, 2025, a meeting was held in these premises, attended by former employees of the former Central Analytical Laboratory, who gathered to symbolically bid farewell to the original laboratories that served as the venue for numerous scientific and technological projects over the years.

The event included a brief tour of the building, offering participants the opportunity to walk through the spaces that witnessed many historical moments. During the tour, attendees reminisced not only about technological changes but also about personal memories associated with these places that accompanied their professional journeys. These memories were complemented by a display of historical photographs capturing moments from when the laboratories first served their purpose as spaces for science and research. The former employees reflected on their achievements as well as personal stories tied to these places.

The renovation of Building N, which will include the modernization of research and analytical facilities, is part of a broader plan to increase the capacity and efficiency of the research infrastructure. In the future, new laboratories, offices, and facilities for scientific teams will be created, promising improved conditions for conducting demanding research projects. For everyone involved, it was an emotional moment, closing a chapter in the history of the Nanotechnology Centre.

"Building N will always be a place where many of our greatest scientific dreams and projects began, and although it is changing, its spirit remains," said Gražyna Simha Martynková, Director of the CNT.
