The Centre for Energy and Environmental Technologies (CEET) welcomed a distinguished foreign delegation from the prestigious National Chin-Yi University of Technology (NCUT) in Taiwan. The main objective of the visit was to introduce the research capacities of both institutions, identify shared topics for research and development cooperation, and officially sign a Memorandum of Understanding.
During the morning programme, the Director of CEET, Stanislav Mišák, familiarised the guests with the research institute's direction and presented the upcoming CEETe H2 hydrogen polygon project. His address was followed by Lukáš Prokop's presentation on the activities of the ENET Centre research facility. Representatives of the individual research groups subsequently introduced currently ongoing projects. The guests from NCUT, Yean-Der Kuan and Jui-Ching Hseieh, were also given the floor to introduce the capacities and projects of their home university to the Ostrava scientists.
The joint discussion culminated in the afternoon with the formal signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, which officially confirms both institutions' interest in long-term cooperation. The document establishes a solid framework for the development of joint research projects, academic mobility, the exchange of experience between research teams, and the preparation of joint publications.
"Hydrogen technologies represent an important component of future low-carbon energy and a significant tool for the decarbonisation of industry and transport. We highly value the interest of our Taiwanese partners in cooperating with the CEET centre. We believe that connecting our expert teams will bring new opportunities for joint research, know-how sharing, and a faster transfer of results into practice. International cooperation is a key prerequisite for us to create innovations with a real impact on society and industry," stated Stanislav Mišák.
The visit concluded with a technical tour of the ENET Centre laboratories. The foreign guests familiarised themselves in detail with the technological facilities of the workplace and, in subsequent informal discussions, discussed specific opportunities for future cooperation and the preparation of joint activities.
The meeting confirmed the strong interest of both institutions in developing a scientific partnership and represents a significant step towards strengthening CEET's international links in the field of sustainable energy.
