CEETe II

CENTRE FOR ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES – EXPLORER II

Why

Thanks to the support of the RDI infrastructure, a unique CEETe II testing polygon will be established in the field of materials engineering, focusing on materials for low-carbon and sustainable energy systems, with a strong emphasis on the practical applicability of research outputs.

  • It is dedicated to providing resources and support for excellent research, innovation, and education in line with internationally recognized standards, fully meeting the definition of a research infrastructure under Article 26 of the GBER.

  • The initiative aims to serve as an accelerator for transferring advanced methods and technologies into practice in the field of modern materials. It will form part of a unique and efficient innovation ecosystem composed of leading research organizations that guarantee top-level research addressing challenges driven by societal demand.

How

  • The center’s equipment will not be financed through this project, with the exception of permanently installed systems (such as fume hoods and exhausts). The laboratory instrumentation will be procured through the REFRESH project and intersectoral collaboration projects (DMS), or the laboratories will be complemented with relevant instruments already owned by the applicant that meet the research requirements.

  • In line with the call’s requirements, the CEETe II polygon will primarily host applied research activities, prioritizing the achievement of results at higher levels of technological readiness (TRL 6–9). This will be carried out in collaboration with representatives of the aforementioned unique innovation ecosystem. The research will be implemented directly by the research organization as the key actor in addressing current and future challenges, leveraging know-how sharing with other research teams at both national and international levels.
