The fundamental instrumentation of the Nanotechnology Centre follows the material- and chemical research and the educational activities taking place at the Centre. The majority of the instruments allow chemical and structural analyses supplemented with specific instruments, allowing material testing and determination of surface characteristics, thermic and friction parameters, etc. Laboratories are also equipped with instruments for nanomaterial technology and modifications. The instrumentation serves for research and educational activities as well as in collaboration with the commercial sector.

The instrumentation can be categorised as:

  • Instruments and tools allowing mechanical and chemical treatment of materials and their primary characterisation
  • Instruments allowing chemical analyses – both inorganic and organic
  • Instruments for structural and phase analyses including microscopic techniques
  • Programmes focused on computational chemistry

The laboratories of the Nanotechnology Centre are located in buildings N and CPIT in the VSB-TUO campus.
