Summer school with Permoniks 2021

The aim of the summer school has traditionally been to promote technology and technically oriented fields of study at VŠB -TUO, mainly the Faculty of Mining and Geology. The activities of the summer school will be divided into a theoretical - preparatory part, where children will learn about the basics of the mining profession, from geological knowledge, through mining, processing and environmental protection in connection with mineral extraction.

In the practical part, focused on field trips, we will visit a selected quarry and the area of the former Kukla Mine in Oslavany, where the stylish PERMONIUM amusement park is built. To learn about selected technological properties of minerals, we have also included one laboratory day when we will make interesting measurements in the faculty's laboratories.

We will intersperse our stay and lectures in the classroom with creative activities, thematic games related to technology and mineral extraction that we specially invent for the children, as well as sporting events. Through carefully selected activities, hobbies and themed competitions, we want to show the children that technology can also be interesting and, above all, playful and fun.
