“A key moment was the personal meeting with Dr. Beatriz Trindade Vidigal Barrocas, with whom our research group has had long-standing cooperation,” said Prof. Kamila Kočí, head of the research group Heterogeneous Photocatalysis. “This in-person meeting allowed us to significantly deepen our collaboration and establish direct contacts with other members of the CERENA research team. During the visit, we presented the current research topics addressed at the Institute of Environmental Technology and discussed opportunities for future cooperation, including potential joint projects,” she added.
As part of the program, a professional lecture on the topic of heterogeneous photocatalysis was delivered, which generated great interest and sparked a lively discussion. The meeting also included detailed discussions regarding a scientific article currently in preparation, which is the result of a one-month research stay of PhD student Ing. Rudolf Ricka at this host institution.
Another part of the visit was devoted to expert presentations, demonstrations of experimental methods, and the exchange of experiences in the fields of environmental technologies and chemical engineering. Discussions also covered the organization of research internships, including possibilities for involving students and early-career researchers in international activities.
“This experience confirmed that international mobility and face-to-face meetings are essential not only for the development of scientific collaboration but also for improving the quality of teaching and education. International experiences and the sharing of best practices represent an important source of inspiration for the further development of our institute,” concluded Prof. Kočí, reflecting on the benefits of the visit.
