1st place in the prestigious contest Phoenix Awards for the CEETe brochure

The internal marketing team of the VSB-TUO Centre for Energy and Environmental Technologies CENET designed and produced a brochure that impressed the board of experts of the Phoenix Awards so much that it won the first and only place in the brochure print category.

On 26 September, the Forum Karlin in Prague hosted the announcement of the results and presentation of the Phoenix Awards, the most prestigious competition in the Czech Republic in the marketing segment. Colleagues from the PR Centre for Energy and Environmental Technologies decided to enter a newly designed brochure into this competition - the CEETe leporelo, which defended its well-thought-out design by winning the 1st place in the "Print is not dead" category as the best brochure of 2024.

How the jury evaluated the submitted projects

The juries are divided into sections according to the expertise of the jurors and also to cover the different aspects to be evaluated in the competition entries. The judges' evaluation was carried out in two rounds - the judges learned about the work from the documents submitted by the CEET team in the project description.

The second round of evaluation was conducted in person and over a full day to two days of discussion between the individual evaluators. Especially the jury of creators, which has the possibility to give special awards - those proposed by the previous juries. The preferred topics for discussion by the judges were:

  • Best magazine cover - cover
  • Innovation
  • Effectiveness
  • Design
  • Photography - Photo production
  • Text

How the CEET PR team thought about publishing the brochure - leporelo

The brochure was designed to introduce CEET's technology polygon, laboratory facilities and technologies that are located in this unique building. Since it is a relatively large amount of information and it was not required to overwhelm the visitors with this information, it was necessary to choose a form in which all the essential information could be put in a concentrated and simple form.

The aim of the printed material was also not to be thrown away by the visitor immediately after leaving, so a foldable format reminiscent of a children's book was chosen, which becomes not only interactive, but also foldable and the visitor can simply put it in his pocket, purse, etc. Another requirement was that it should be a cost-effective option.
All the objectives were met and the fact that the concept of the whole project was really well thought out was confirmed by the expert jury and the 1st prize for the best brochure in the Czech Republic.

In addition to their great success, the 1st place winners also received a sculpture by designer Matěj Otto Hájek, inspired by Möbius strip, which is supposed to represent infinity. It was created from stainless steel material that has been annealed by fire, as a symbolism of the Phoenix that can rise from the ashes. Each prize is thus unique, as are the unique winning entries.

The gala evening of the prestigious Phoenix Awards took place in the lavishly arranged premises of the Forum Karlín with a perfectly organized entire schedule, which the founder Kateřina Borovanská can be proud of.
The announcement of the results and the award ceremony was attended by Stanislav Mišák, Director of the Centre for Energy and Environmental Technologies, and Petra Dychusová, PR of the ENET Centre.
