Service Offerings

We perform comprehensive experimental testing of small-scale combustion sources up to 500 kW for both solid and liquid fuels. We offer the measurement of emission parameters using modern analyzers to determine the concentrations of CO, NOx, OGC, and particulate matter, including PM10, PM2.5, and PM1 fractions. Our services also include complete chemical analysis of flue gases and particles, including the determination of heavy metals and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). We also feature a calorimetric room for measuring the thermal output of equipment released into the surrounding environment.

We organize proficiency testing programs in the field of emission measurement and the determination of particulate matter in accordance with the requirements of ČSN EN ISO/IEC 17043. The program is implemented annually at the Energy Research Center's accredited test dust duct and is used to verify laboratory performance through interlaboratory comparisons. The testing facility enables the precise determination of reference values for mass flow and particulate matter concentration, and is also utilized for the calibration of dust meters, the verification of filter materials, and other experimental measurements in aerosol technology.

We offer the experimental determination of the thermokinetic properties of pulverized fuels using a drop-tube furnace facility, which allows for the simulation of combustion, gasification, and pyrolysis processes under defined temperature and atmospheric conditions.

We conduct detailed analyses of fine and ultrafine aerosol particles generated during combustion processes, including the determination of their size distribution, concentration, and physicochemical properties. For our measurements, we utilize a wide range of modern instrumentation for on-line and gravimetric aerosol characterization and sample preparation, enabling detailed particle evaluation across a broad range of sizes and concentrations.

We analyze the sorption properties of materials using the GASPRO HA system, which enables a detailed study of interactions between gases and solids at pressures up to 200 bar and within a temperature range of -170 to 370 °C. The equipment is used to precisely determine the amount of sorbed gas and characterize the sorption capacity of materials for a wide spectrum of gases, including CO₂, hydrogen, methane, and nitrogen. The infrastructure also includes supporting systems such as a hydrogen generator and a mass spectrometer, enabling detailed tracking of chemical and physical changes during sorption processes.

We provide the custom design, development, and optimization of electrostatic precipitators tailored to specific customer requirements for reducing emissions of particulate matter and other pollutants from combustion processes.

We introduce the world of solid fuels and combustion processes in a clear, engaging, and tailored way for every audience. We adapt our educational programs to the age and focus of listeners—ranging from playful "science through play" formats for primary school students to specialized, practically oriented lectures for professionals and manufacturers of combustion equipment.

We connect theory with practice and inspire a deeper understanding and innovation in the field of energy.
