Analytical services

  • Chromatographic methods:

Analysis of gaseous and liquid pyrolysis products.

Special analysis and identification of gas mixtures or pollutants in gases and liquids by gas chromatography with mass detection and the use of thermal desorption.

Trace analysis of gases and volatile liquids, very low detection limits for H2, CO2, CO, hydrocarbons, etc.

Determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and other organic substances in solutions and sorbents by liquid chromatography.

Analysis of permanent gases CO, CO2, NOx, N2O in the air and technological waste gases by gas-phase infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).

  • Monitoring of interactions of enzymes, proteins, proteomics, determination of pesticides, hormones, and PCBs in water using surface plasmon resonance (SPR imaging).
  • Spectrophotometric determinations (e.g., total cyanides, ammoniacal nitrogen, nitrates, nitrites, total nitrogen, phosphorus, phosphates).
  • Determination of biochemical and chemical oxygen demand (BOD5 and COD).
  • Energetic characterization of fuels and waste materials:

Thermogravimetric analysis (determination of moisture, ash content, volatile matter, fixed carbon, and approximate ignition temperature) of solid samples and liquids.

Determination of the gross calorific value of solid and liquid waste and fuels - accredited test.

Determination of basic elemental composition (C, H, S, N, O).

Determination of forms of organic and inorganic carbon.

  • Determination of metals in liquid (water, leachates) and solid samples by atomic absorption spectroscopy (flame and graphite furnace atomization); all common metals except Hg.
  • Determination of elemental composition in the range from Na to U by X-ray fluorescence. Chemical composition of ashes, plastics, solid and powder materials, liquids including oils.
  • Isotachophoretic determination of ions in aqueous samples.
  • Qualitative analysis of solid and liquid samples - Thermo Nicolet iS10 Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer.
  • Determination of specific surface area, pore volume, and pore size distribution of solid substances in the micro- and mesopore range.
  • Characterization of catalysts and sorbents - amount of reducible and oxidizable components, amount and strength of acidic and basic sites.
  • Determination of the skeletal density of solid substances using a helium pycnometer.
  • Measurement of the quantum efficiency of semiconductor materials.
  • Identification of the phase composition of crystalline substances.
  • Tests of volume stability of substances in accordance with a certified methodology.
  • Tests of material compressive and bending strength.

 

Process testing

  • Determination of catalyst efficiency for the catalytic oxidation of VOCs, selective catalytic reduction of NOx with ammonia, and catalytic decomposition of N2O.
  • Determination of the photocatalytic activity of semiconductor materials according to the international standard ISO 22197-1 – Degradation of NO.
  • Determination of the efficiency of adsorbents in the gas and liquid phases.
  • Assessment of catalyst deactivation.
  • Determination of the efficiency of photocatalysts for the photocatalytic decomposition of N2O, photocatalytic decomposition of methanol (in the liquid phase), and catalytic reduction of CO2 (in both the liquid and gas phases).
  • Pilot-scale waste combustion tests with online analysis of pollutants CO2, O2, CO, NO, NO2, N2O, and SO2, with the possibility of sampling to ensure the analysis of HCl, HF, heavy metals, and PCDD/Fs.
  • Pyrolysis tests of fuels, biomass, waste, and other materials.
  • Verification tests of biogas production in wet, semi-dry, or dry anaerobic digestion processes.
  • Anaerobic digestion tests – (co)fermentation.

  •  Chemical engineering calculations:

Mass and enthalpy balances.

Design and simulation calculations of separation processes (absorption, adsorption, rectification, extraction).

Design and simulation calculations of chemical reactors.

Design of insulation and heat exchangers.
