Large Research Infrastructure ENREGAT - Energy recovery from waste and gas treatment
The Large Research Infrastructure ENREGAT (LRI ENREGAT) offers access to equipment and technological units focused on energy recovery from waste and waste gas treatment.
ENREGAT represents a unique base for comprehensive research on the combustion, thermochemical processes, and anaerobic digestion of waste materials, as well as the catalytic, sorption, and photocatalytic purification, and membrane separation of the generated gases. In addition, ENREGAT also enables research in related fields and provides comprehensive analytical services.
The uniqueness of the ENREGAT infrastructure lies in the possibility of conducting basic and applied research focused on various technologies for the energy utilization of a wide range of wastes, from laboratory to pilot scale. It is thus possible to assess the suitability of a technology for a selected type of waste. Furthermore, LRI ENREGAT enables research into technologies for reducing emissions of various gaseous pollutants (e.g., nitrogen oxides, carbon dioxide, organic substances), from laboratory tests to verification in a pilot-scale waste incinerator, which is also part of LRI ENREGAT.
The Large Research Infrastructure ENREGAT has been included in the Roadmap of Large Research Infrastructures of the Czech Republic since January 2019. Thanks to targeted support from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (Project No. LM2023056), the ENREGAT infrastructure is available free of charge in open access for the broad scientific community. Businesses and commercial customers can use ENREGAT in the form of collaborative or contract research.
