Sustainability

Sustainability is one of the fundamental pillars of the research and innovation activities of the Centre for Energy and Environmental Technologies (CEET). In the context of current environmental and energy challenges, it is understood as a comprehensive approach that integrates technological development, responsible resource management and the long-term stability of energy systems.

Research conducted at CEET focuses on the design and implementation of solutions that contribute to reducing the environmental impacts of the energy and industrial sectors. Particular emphasis is placed on the development of low- and zero-emission technologies, efficient energy use, the integration of renewable energy sources and support for the principles of the circular economy. An integral part of these activities is also the development of advanced materials and systems that enable greater efficiency, reliability and flexibility of energy infrastructure.

A distinctive feature of CEET’s approach is the integration of basic and applied research with the practical validation of technologies under real-world conditions. Experimental infrastructure, including the CEETe building, enables the testing of concepts related to energy self-sufficiency, intelligent consumption management and the integration of different energy sources into functional systems.

Sustainability is also regarded as an interdisciplinary topic that extends beyond technology itself. It encompasses economic aspects, the legislative framework and the societal impacts of the energy transition. CEET therefore actively contributes to building the knowledge base for decision-making by public authorities and industrial partners and supports the transfer of research results into practice.
