The Czech Industry Challenge annually highlights organizations and projects that shape the future of Czech industry through innovation, social responsibility, or sustainable strategies. CEET was recognized in the Social Responsibility category for its long-term contribution to research and practical deployment of technologies aligned with the principles of the circular economy, low-carbon energy systems, and hydrogen-based solutions.
The jury emphasized CEET’s integrated approach to addressing current and future challenges related to decarbonization, the circular economy, and the use of renewable and alternative energy sources, including hydrogen technologies. Also noteworthy is the centre’s active involvement in science communication, as well as systematic cooperation with industrial partners and the public sector — both nationally and internationally.
“We see this award as confirmation that our research brings not only academic but, above all, practical value to society and our industrial partners. For us, sustainability is not just a scientific direction but a commitment to the future of the region and the entire Czech Republic,” said Stanislav Mišák, Director of CEET.
Among the key CEET projects contributing to the award are the development of energy-efficient hybrid systems for public and research buildings, the advancement of community energy and hydrogen economy technologies, and smart energy management tailored to the needs of industrial partners. The centre also plays a significant role in introducing low-emission solutions and optimizing energy flows within companies.
The jury also considered CEET’s involvement in international projects, ranging from testing and piloting innovative technologies to producing expert recommendations for sustainable energy legislation. A strong emphasis is placed on connecting research infrastructure with real-world practice and delivering measurable impact on both regional and national levels.
This recognition is not only a validation of CEET’s achievements to date but also a commitment for the future. CEET will continue to contribute to the development of sustainable solutions for energy and the environment, in alignment with Czech and European climate and energy policies, including the European Green Deal and the National Energy and Climate Plan.
