We conduct research and development focused on transforming input materials, particularly waste and alternative fuels, into usable forms of energy and on their subsequent efficient utilisation. Our objective is to develop renewable energy technologies with minimal adverse environmental impacts. This includes new technologies for the transport and processing of energy feedstocks, their efficient conversion into energy, and advanced solutions for electrical and thermal energy microgrids incorporating energy storage.
We have unique laboratory facilities and highly qualified experts working on the development of a safe and reliable energy platform designed to strengthen the energy self-sufficiency and raw-material independence of regions and, potentially, entire countries. Our approach combines the efficient use of waste resources, the maximum possible integration of local renewable energy sources, energy storage technologies, and intelligent energy-flow management using advanced artificial intelligence methods. These activities are pursued in close alignment with national and EU energy strategies and with the support of Industry 4.0 technologies.
The ENET Centre also addresses priorities defined under the Horizon 2020 programme and develops projects focused on emerging renewable energy and energy storage technologies, Smart Grids and Smart Cities.
