Title
Basic research on the flow of suspended particles in the atmosphere over large areas at low velocities using dynamic modeling
Code
RRC/2012/1
Summary
The project aims to describe the behavior of the ground layer of the troposphere dynamic modeling using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) in the spread of suspended particles in large areas (tens of kilometers) at low flow velocities and specific air temperature stratification.
The applications relating to the environment is currently most commonly used statistical models, however, have limitations and do not fully take into account the dynamics of the spread of contamination during specific meteorological conditions, such as the inverse situation. The project aims to research the properties and behavior of the ground layer of the troposphere using the CFD model, which allows the dynamics of particles flowing in the specific conditions of low velocity, while calculating the transfer to a larger area than the usual models of this type. Using powerful computer technology and previous experience will be able to bring in large areas in great detail the distribution of phenomena that affect the investigated processes (particularly stratification and distribution of ground temperature and thermal turbulence).
The project will be ready for a unique dynamic model using CFD, GIS and powerful supercomputers for the model area of the Region, which will describe the real situation with extreme pollution by suspended particles. They examined the effects of different parameters on the situation. The model can be used in any applied research.
