Tailored oxidic catalysts for NO decomposition without reducing agent

Summary
Project deals with preparation of catalysts based on Co, Mn and Al mixed oxides for NO
decomposition without using of a reduction agent. The effect of preparation conditions will be
studied (preparation of precursors, modification by promoters from the group of alkali and alkali
earth metals, influence of calcination) on catalytic properties for NO decomposition – activity,
selectivity and stability based on correlation with physical-chemical properties and knowledge
about reaction mechanism. The new information on key parameters of the preparation process
of catalysts influencing activity and stability in the direct catalytic decomposition of NO will be the
result of the project. Preparation of the catalysts for direct NO decomposition, based on Co, Mn
and Al mixed oxides, was not up to date systematically investigated.
