Objectives and Focus

The Materials and Environmental Laboratory (Materials-Envi Lab) focuses on the development of advanced materials based on carbon and metal compounds, utilising modern approaches in materials chemistry, deposition techniques, and atomic engineering. Research is oriented towards the precise control of material structure and properties down to the atomic level, and their application in key technologies such as solar energy conversion, green hydrogen production, energy storage, heterogeneous catalysis, water purification, and biomedicine. Our work bridges low-dimensional materials (2D, 1D, 0D) with sustainable applications, contributes to addressing current energy and environmental challenges, and pushes the boundaries of innovation on both a scientific and practical scale.
