Hybrid and biodegradable clay nanocomposite materials

Summary
The main attention will be paid to the preparation of hybrid and biodegradable nanocomposite materials based on PCL, PVAc and PDF in the form of thin films and fibers (Spur a. S., Tomas Bata University in Zlín - Center of Polymer Systems). Vermiculite clay materials together with antimicrobial nanostructures based on ZnO, CuO, chlorhexidine and cyclopiroxolamine will be used as functional fillers. These fillers will also be used for the preparation of oily mixtures based on isopropyl myristate for medical applications. The materials obtained will be subjected to antimicrobial tests on selected strains.
Continuous external cooperation with ON Semiconductor, Rožnov pod Radhoštěm will be complemented and deepened by studies dedicated to the elimination of defects of nanocomposite layers in epitaxial growth - CVD method.
