Title
Příjem nanočástic rostlinou a jejich distribuce v rostlinném organismu
Code
SP2019/70
Summary
The object of study is experimental determination of the nanoparticle (nano-TiO2, nano-ZnO) uptake by the selected plants (mint, sage) following their exposure to known concentration of nanoparticles under controlled conditions. The plants are going to be subjected to the nanoparticles through their roots (in substrate) or leaves and stems (in suspension), soil pH, temperature and humidity of the environment are going to be monitored and altered in order to establish their effect on the plant nanoparticle uptake. Following the exposure, the amount of the accumulated xenobiotics in plants is going to be determined by Neutron activation analysis. The samples will be divided according to the parts of the plant anatomy (root, stem, leaf) to determine the translocation of the accumulated nanoparticles in the plant body. Simultaneously, the amount of chlorophyll in the plants is going to be determined using chlorophyll fluorescence to discover the rate of the exposure-induced physiological stress. The project is a partial continuation of the SP2018/71 project. Project timetable: 1) Plant samples preparation (peppermint, sage). Growing and acclimatization; January - March, 2019 2) Exposure of the plants to the prepared ZnO and TiO2 nanoparticles in soil and / or suspension under controlled conditions (pH, humidity, temperature); April - May, 2019 3) Continuously: chlorophyll content analysis in the exposed and control samples; March - June, 2019 4) Analysis of the amount of the accumulated xenobiotics in plant parts (root, stem, leaf) using Neutron Activation Analysis (JINR, Dubna, Russian Federation); June - September, 2019 5) Statistical analyses of the results; September - October, 2019 6) Manuscripts preparation; October - December, 2019 7) Publishing the results on conferences and / or scientific journals; October - December, 2019, year 2020
