Title
Hybrid clay nanofillers for antimicrobial polymer films
Code
SP2020/8
Summary
The aim of the project is to prepare and characterize antimicrobial nanocomposite materials in the form of thin films and fibers with hybrid nanostructures.
The project will be solved in the form of continuously connected steps, which will extend the knowledge gained within the implementation of the project SP2019 / 24. The project schedule can be summarized as follows:
1. Preparation of natural clay material of vermiculite and montmorillonite (preparation of underlay fraction 40µm, size and phase characterization). Structural, phase and elementary characterization. (T: 01-03; 08-12 / 2020)
2. Mechanochemical and ultrasonic preparation of chlorhexidine and ciclopiroxolamine intercalates using ZnO and ZnO / vermiculite, respectively. ZnO / montmorillonite matrices. Stability of processes. (T: 01-12 / 2020)
3. Structural, phase and elementary characterization of prepared nanostructured materials of composite character, testing of antimicrobial properties (external cooperation) - realized in the form of a service. (T: 01-12 / 2020)
4. Testing of hybrid nanofillers in terms of phase and concentration stability, analysis of the release of nanoparticles (zinc ions and chlorhexidine molecules) into a defined liquid environment simulating human fluids, testing using the dialysis bag method. (T: 01-5 / 2020)
5. Preparation of PCL and PVDF nanocomposite materials in the form of thin films and fibers. Stability of the preparation conditions. Spinning of polymer nanocomposite materials with various nanofillers in cooperation with SPUR a.s. Zlín. Characterization of structural, morphological and phase changes. (T: 01-12 / 2020)
6. Analysis of release of ciclopiroxolamine nanoparticles from ZnO / vermiculite, respectively. ZnO / montmorillonite matrices into a defined liquid medium, testing using a dialysis bag method. (T: 10-12 / 2020)
7. Mechanical and mechanochemical degradation of polymeric nanocomposite materials. Structural characterization of polymer films in dependence on thermal and ultrasonic surface degradation. (T: 01-10 / 2020)
Expected project outputs and obtained experimental results will be:
1. presented at an international conference;
2. published in selected foreign journals;
3. part of bachelor theses with expected date of implementation in 2020 (V. Mohyla, K. Švábová, L. Plesník, M. Ščuková);
5. part of the master's thesis with the expected date of implementation in 2020 (Bc. D. Holeksová, Bc. O. Čech).
