Summary
Subject of research within the project: Research activity 1: Maximization of the amount of hydrogen contained in syngas and compounds from Fischer-Tropsch synthesis Knowledge of the processes in the gasification and synthesis of liquid fuels is relatively well known and understood for homogeneous fuels. In the case of their mixtures, this is not the case and even legislatively these mixtures are not addressed much. The aim of the project is to obtain a set of experimental data needed to evaluate the energy density of materials obtained from the processes of gasification and synthesis of liquid fuels using a combination of methods of gasification of fuel in the reactor and synthesis of liquid fuels. It is a combination of advanced experimental methods suitable for studying the processes of more efficient use of alternative fuels. Selected application cases include the solution of current research tasks related to fundamental aspects of the effective use of experimental technology at VEC, VŠB-TU Ostrava. The results of the research will be summarized in the final report and published in a professional periodical. Research activity 2: Study of manifestations of hazardous substances in accidents Modeling the consequences of accidents in the Czech Republic has a long tradition among safety-oriented fields. This research is situated in the analytical field of industrial safety. The activity offers a unique opportunity to get acquainted with world-renowned computational models for predicting emergency manifestations. In fact, the data obtained can be used by professionals in the fields of fire, explosion and toxic leak prevention, but also in risk analysis and prevention. Real technology data is used to demonstrate how the calculations are to be used correctly. Although these calculations are usually performed with hermetically sealed computer codes, their conceptual knowledge will help to orientate quickly and avoid mistakes in accepting absurd, overly conservative, or overly optimistic results. The results of the research will be summarized in the final report and published in a professional periodical.
