Summary
Subject of research within the project:
Research activity 1: Optimization of technical parameters of energy gas purification
The solution includes modification of the pilot gasification plant, including complete delivery, production, transport, installation and commissioning. The partial goal is to study the problem of determination and removal of tars from the gas generated by biomass gasification and experimental determination of the composition of energy gas using an analyzer in order to maximize energy and electricity efficiency. It will include technical parameters, including impact on the environment, humans, human health (analysis of emissions, by-products). Selected application cases include the solution of current research tasks related to fundamental aspects of the effective use of experimental technology at VEC, VŠB-TU Ostrava. The results of the research will be summarized in the final report and published in a professional periodical.
Research activity 2: Determination of fire-technical characteristics of produced energy gas
VEC has technologies and experimental equipment not only for the preparation but also for the study of explosion characteristics of energy gas. This combination allows the unique study of this hazardous fuel under the real conditions under which it occurs in technology. The partial goal includes performing a series of experimental simulations in selected typical operating modes in order to obtain operating characteristics and evaluate the influence of individual parameters on the safety of unit operation. It will include operational safety and determination of fire technical characteristics. The results of the balances can also be used by other commercially or experimentally used gasification units. The results of the research will be summarized in the final report and published in a professional periodical.
The members of the research team will be actively involved in the scientific organization and management of experiments in order to help increase the level of knowledge about cleaner gasification processes, evaluation of limit testing and the possibility of using technology modifications.
