Novel designs and materials for terahertz nonreciprocity

Summary
This research collaboration will characterize experimentally the electromagnetic properties, i.e., the permittivity/permeability and conductivity tensors, of both classes of envisaged nonreciprocal THz materials: gyromagnetic (hexa-)ferrites with high frequency ferromagnetic resonances, and gyroelectric magnetoplasmas with THz cyclotron frequencies. This characterization will be done using the different complementary measurement setups that are available in both laboratories and that cover different frequency ranges. All results will be crosschecked as much as possible by both groups by exchanging samples and measurement data.
