Advanced spin-photonic and quantum nonlinear sources of light

Summary
Five different types of advanced light sources including those with highly non-classical properties will be investigated both theoretically and experimentally: (1) spin lasers with vertical cavity and intrinsic anisotropy, (2) terahertz solid-state lasers based on molecular crystals, (3) wide-band terahertz spintronic emitters with polarization modulation, (4) nonlinear sources of entangled photon pairs including magneto-optic nonlinear effects, and (5) traveling-wave sources of squeezed light. Highly specialized approaches and methods of modern quantum optics, spin-photonics, nonlinear optics, magneto-plasmonics and high performance supercomputing will be applied to model the considered light sources and to experimentally characterize their properties.
