International project Circular Solutions for Food Waste Retention in Central European Schools kicked off with a meeting
Colleagues from the research group Biochemical Processes Dr. Kateřina Chamrádová and Dr. Panagiotis Basinas participated in the Kick off Meeting of the international project Circular solutions for keeping food waste out of Central Europe's schools (foodCIRCUS), which took place in Vienna on 6.6.-7.6.2024.

Dr. Kateřina Chamrádová presented the research activities of the Institute of Environmental Technology with an emphasis on the experience of anaerobic digestion of various types of waste with a focus on waste from school canteens.

Dr. Panagiotis Basinas presented the tasks in the foodCIRCUS project that will be carried out at the IET in the Biochemical Processes research group and provided information on the progress of the research activities that will be carried out for the successful implementation of the project. Dr Basinas is the leader of the foodCIRCUS project WP 2 Food Waste Treatment, activity 2.3 Biogas from food waste. The international project was supported by Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE 2021-2027, Programme priority P2 - Cooperating for a greener central Europe.
