The workshop was opened by Prof. Pidlisnyuk and Dr. Grycová, who introduced the Miscanvalue project. This was followed by a presentation by Dr. Leštinský (VSB – Technical University of Ostrava) providing an overview of pyrolysis and biochar production. Dr. Grycová subsequently presented the technological process, and the evaluation of the performed experiments was introduced by Dr. Klemencová (VSB – Technical University of Ostrava).
After a short break, the Quit test was presented in cooperation with partners from the University of Ústí nad Labem and Germany. Mgr. Newton delivered a presentation entitled “Miscanthus Biochar Application in Phytoremediation and Biomass Production.” Another perspective was offered by Dr. Vrabl from the University of Ostrava, who addressed photosynthesis and ecotoxicology in relation to biochar application.
The final presentation introduced the Large research infrastructure ENREGAT, its instrumental equipment, and the possibilities for utilizing the infrastructure..
Part of the questions were addressed during the discussion session. The workshop was attended by 49 participants from the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Ukraine, and Spain. The event concluded with an enriching discussion. All participants were granted access to the presentations and additional materials. The organizers look forward to future fruitful cooperation with all interested parties.
