Who is eligible to apply for open access?

• students and researchers from the host organization VŠB-TUO,
• students and researchers from outside VŠB-TUO (domestic, foreign).

The call is NOT intended for commercial applicants.

Open access depends on the scientific qualities of the applicant and their project, based on an expert evaluation. Access is free of charge.

How to apply?

It is possible to apply for open access to the ENREGAT research infrastructure through this application. Instructions on the registration process and filling out the form can be found here.

If the applicant is a student, it is necessary to submit the applicant's CV and a recommendation from their supervisor.

Forms of open access

• physical access: users utilize the infrastructure in person on-site,
• remote access: the service is provided without the physical presence of the user.

Deadlines

The call has no time limit. All received project proposals will be immediately included in the evaluation process.

Evaluation proces

Project proposals are subjected to a two-stage evaluation process:

Phase I – technical feasibility: approved by the person responsible for the equipment (YES/NO),

Phase II – expert evaluation to assess the scientific qualities of the applicant and their project (only projects that are not part of previously approved projects must go through the approval process). Proposals are evaluated by an independent expert and the Scientific Board according to the following criteria:

• scientific quality and objectives: 10 points max.,
• methodology and work plan: 10 points max.,
• expected results and impacts: 10 points max.,
• quality of the CV and accompanying documentation (in the case of students): ACCEPTED/REJECTED.

To be accepted, project proposals must be rated "YES" in Phase I and receive a minimum of 15 points and "ACCEPTED" in Phase II of the evaluation. If multiple proposals requesting the same equipment are submitted, their order is determined by the number of points achieved. Prior to the project start date, an "Agreement on Cooperation and Use of the Infrastructure" is signed between the Director of LRI ENREGAT and the user. In relevant cases, a "Non-Disclosure Agreement" is also signed.

User information

In open access, the research infrastructure covers: operating costs, costs associated with the standard operation of facilities and equipment (including wage costs for workers in continuous operation, evaluation of results, energy consumption, and pre-determined consumables).

LRI ENREGAT users cover: travel expenses, accommodation costs, as well as costs for non-standard consumables (e.g., input material, waste, catalysts, adsorbents). Compensation for additional costs is specified prior to concluding the "Agreement on Cooperation and Use of the Infrastructure".

For users with physical access, LRI ENREGAT assists with arranging accommodation in student dormitories or a hotel on the university campus, provides assistance related to the arrival of foreigners in cooperation with the Department of International Relations of VŠB-TUO, and ensures introductory training.
