Research Areas
Research and development is the core professional activity of the Centre for Energy and Environmental Technologies (CEET). It focuses on areas that are fundamental to the transformation of the energy sector, the sustainable use of raw materials, the development of low-emission technologies, and the reduction of the environmental impacts of industry and society.
CEET research brings together materials engineering, energy technologies, environmental technologies, digitalisation and the systems-level management of energy processes. Thanks to this interdisciplinary approach, we develop solutions that can be applied in both basic and applied research, as well as in industrial practice, public administration and regional development.
CEET’s main research directions focus primarily on the research and development of new materials, the efficient use of secondary raw materials, alternative and renewable energy sources, energy storage, energy conversion, control and optimisation. Environmental aspects of technologies also form an important part of our activities, including environmental impact assessment and the development of solutions supporting the transition towards more sustainable forms of energy generation, distribution and consumption.
CEET focuses on research with strong application potential. The results of our scientific work contribute to the development of modern energy systems, emission reduction, the circular use of material flows, improved energy efficiency, and greater technological self-sufficiency of both the region and the Czech Republic.
