The research group focuses on the investigation in the field of engineering and processing technologies for the thermal treatment of waste and alternative fuels, with an emphasis on maximizing the efficiency of the entire process. Furthermore, it deals with the fundamental and applied research of combustion, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, drying, and the sorption of pollutants in fluidized bed boilers, as well as substituting conventional fuels with alternative ones.  It also dwells on developing mathematical models of individual processes and verifying them through experimental measurements.
